Typing (Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced): a
computer typing class that covers all levels of typing. Students
learn
to type by using a computer program. The program is self-directed,
allowing students to progress at their own pace.
PowerPoint 2003 (Beginning or Intermediate):
a graphic presentation
program allowing students
to create presentations in a slide
format that may be shown during oral reports. It allows the presenter
to summarize data and emphasize report highlights. This course
covers more advanced techniques such as creating organizational
charts, working with Excel worksheets and incorporating slide
transitions.
Windows XP: introduces the student to the computer and Windows
XP. It provides a full range of powerful programs that may
be used independently or in an integrated fashion to efficiently
complete all standard office applications. This is an excellent
class for a beginning student.
Desktop Publishing: introduces the student to the fundamentals
of desktop publishing. The topics covered allow the students
to create brochures, flyers and other forms of promotional materials.
Computer Repair (Beginning or Intermediate): introduces the
student to the interior operation of a computer. The course covers
a review of the computer's motherboard; how to program the computer's
hard drive; setup of the computer and performing upgrades to
the software, memory and hardware.
Access 2003 (Beginning or Intermediate): shows students how
to develop a database to assist them in organizing and sorting
information. A database is an organized collection of facts about
a particular subject. An Access database is the electronic equivalent
of a manual database. It organizes the facts and provides a way
to maintain the data electronically.
QuarkXpress: the world's premier electronic publishing software.
It provides all the tools required to create, design and deliver
high-impact publication in both print and electronic media. In
this course students learn to layout and design publications,
to print or output a publication, text processing and color management.
Word 2003 (Beginning or Intermediate): a word processing program
used for creating and editing documents. In this course students
learn to create and print documents, open and edit documents,
align and enhance text, format and edit documents, work with
multiple-page documents, and use clip art and templates.
A+ Certification: Having an A+ certification
proves that you have a broad base of knowledge and competency
in core hardware
and operating system technologies including installation, configuration,
diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. This
course prepares students for this certification exam.
Also available Network+ Certification or Client and Server Architecture
preparations.
Excel 2003 (Beginning or Intermediate): a spreadsheet program.
Spreadsheets are reports that are used for business and financial
application that analyze data in a table format. Any data that
needs analysis using formulas and that can be arranged in a table
should be in a spreadsheet.

Children's Program
The Africa Ministry Youth and Education Committee have created
a technology program to expand the boundaries of our children’s
knowledge of self and their surroundings. The program aims to
help our children use the power of computer technology to explore
their culture. The goal is to assist the children with making
the connection between self and environment. Students will learn
how to create power point presentations showing the correlation
between Africans/African Americans from the past in their present
lives.
Age group 9 to 18.
