Our Mission
We are committed in Christ to serve humanity in the most effective legal
manner possible by delivering the racial and social justice necessary
to liberate all of God’s people.
We affirm through our adherence to the practice of ‘Liberation
Theology’ or the Biblical vision of divine revelation that tells
us that God identifies wholly with the liberation of oppressed peoples
from worldly oppression. As African Americans in the United Church of
Christ ("UCC"), we seek to affirm that God is a God of Justice
for all people. "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set
you free" (John 8:32).
Our Purpose
The Legal Counseling Ministry's purpose is to nurture the spiritual growth and development of Christian attorneys and other professionals in the social justice system; to assist in the professional development and career growth of our members; and to provide legal assistance to the Trinity community.
To Accomplish Our Purpose
The Legal Counseling Ministry meets every second Thursday of each month,
except during summer hiatus (July-August). We keep
the Trinity legal community abreast of personal and
professional development opportunities.
We serve our church, congregants and community by tithing
our time through numerous ministry service opportunities.
We welcome your presence in
our monthly meetings and look forward to your sharing
of ideas, knowledge and/or expertise that you may have
regarding the ministry, professional
development and/or service opportunities. "He has told
you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord
require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?" (Micah
6:8 (NIV)).
