Ministry History

The Career Development Ministry began as the Employment Ministry, under the watchful eye of Rev. Barbara Allen, over 23 years ago.

The Ministry's first meeting took place in a hallway in the old church located on 95th Street. The Ministry's original purpose was to assist members and community with getting prepared to look for employment, how to write a resume and appropriate dress for interviews.

Over the years, the ministry has grown and developed to include skills assessment, how-to workshops and business seminars. Approximately 7 years ago, the Employment Ministry was renamed "Career Development" to meet the new dynamics of a changing, growing congregation
