Mission Statement

Combating the bondage of addiction through the church universal; through support, out reach, education and prevention by the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Overview

This mission is accomplished through the provision of numerous services to church members, non-church members and the community at large. We offer crisis intervention to those seeking treatment for addiction/alcoholism and also provide counseling to family members through our hot line (773-962-5650 ext. 808) or in a one on one and/or family meetings.

We host two separate weekly Christian 12 Step recovery/support meetings for the: addicts/alcoholic and family members, Friday nights at Trinity United Church of Christ, 7pm to 9pm, as well as a weekly meeting in the Cook County Prison every Tuesday. We help get people into detoxification centers, rehabilitation programs, and residential living. We provide sponsorship to those seeking to remain sober.

The ministry provides addiction prevention education to the youth, church at large, and community through workshops and outreach efforts. The ministry's business meetings (open to church members only) are held every third Sunday, 2pm at TUCC. You do not have to be a recovering person to participate in this ministry - all that's needed is a desire to participant in the holistic healing process of those who are affected by any addiction!

Ministry Business Meetings, 2:00 pm, 3rd Sunday of each month
