The Can-Cer-Vive Ministry was organized in 1994 as a support
group for cancer patients, their families, and their care givers.
Our goal is to educate the community about early detection and
prevention; thereby helping to erase some of the unwarranted fears
and myths associated with cancer.
Enable them to be aware of the common cancers among African
Americans: Breast, Cervix, Colon, Endometrium, Esophagus, Lung,
Oral Cavity, Pancreas, Prostrate, Rectum, and Stomach.
Enable them to be aware of how "proper diet" and
"exercise" can often aid in the prevention of cancer.
Enable them to detect the "early warning signs" of
cancer.
Be aware of the fact that even after detection of cancer, with
"proper treatment," many patients still have many
years of being cancer-free.
